40 men can complete a work in 40 days. They started working together. But 5 men kept on leaving the job on every 10th day. In how many days work will be completed?

Total men days = 40 *40 = 1600 men-days.
40 men work for 10 days = 400 men days
35men work for 10 days = 350 men days
30 men work for 10 days = 300 men days.
25 men work for 10 days = 250 men days
20 men work for 10 men days = 200 men days.
Total men days till now = 400 +350 +300 +250 +200 = 1500 men days.
Rest men days = 1600 - 1500 = 100 men days.
Now 15 men will work for complete 100 men days in = 100/15 = 6.66 days.
So total days = 10*5 + 6.66 = 56.66 days.

40/t=1/40; t=1600 days is the time one man alone takes.
5 men can do it in 8 days.
After 10 days, 40/160 of the work is done and
35 men spend the next 10 days doing (35/40)*(1/4)=35/160 of the work.
30 men spend the next 10 days doing
(30/40)*(1/4)=30/160 of the work.
25 men spend the next 10 days doing
(25/40)*(1/4)=25/160 of the work.
20 men spend the next 10 days doing
(20/40)*(1/4)=20/160 of the work.
So far that's (40+35+30+25+20)/160=150/160
50 days have passed and we have 15 men left to do 10/160 of the work.
10/160=1/16.........
If 15 men take 1600/15 days to do the whole job,
then 1/16 of the job will take 100/15=20/3 days to finish.
The total number of days is 50+20/3=56.66
