A, B and C together can complete a piece of work in 10 days. All the three started working at it together and after 4 days A left. Then B and C together completed the work in 10 more days. A alone could complete the work in :

A. 15 days

B. 16 days

C. 25 days

D. 50 days

E. None of these

Solution(By Examveda Team)

(A+B+C) do 1 work in 10 days.
(A+B+C)'s 1 day work = $$\frac{1}{10}$$
They work together for 4 days.
∴Workdone by them in 4 days=$$\frac{4}{10}$$ = $$\frac{2}{5}$$

Remaining work = 1 - $$\frac{2}{5}$$ = $$\frac{3}{5}$$
(B+C) take 10 more days to complete $$\frac{3}{5}$$ work.
So (B+C)'s 1 day work = $$\frac{3}{50}$$
Now A'S 1 day work
=(A+B+C)'s 1 day work - (B+C)'s 1 day work
=$$\frac{1}{10}$$ - $$\frac{3}{50}$$ = $$\frac{1}{25}$$
A does $$\frac{1}{25}$$ work in in 1 day
A alone could complete the work in 25days

(A+b+c) - 10Day - 1work
//. - 1 day - 1/10 work
//. -4 days- 4/10 work=2/5
Remaining work done by B and C in 10 days is
1-2/5=3/5 unit
B+C - 10 days - 3/5 unit
B+C - 1 work - 10÷3/5 = 50/3days
B+c - 1day work 3/50 unit
A's 1 work -
(A+B+C) 1daywork-(B+C) 1daywork
1/10-3/50=1/25
A can complete in 25 days.

A+B+C........... do in 1 day 1/10th work
so in 4 days 4/10= 2/5th work
work left 3/5
B+C 3/5 do in 10 days
So 1 work do in 10*5/3 = 50/3 days
Now..... 1/10 - 3/50 = 1/25
So 25 days need A to do the work alone
