A father was twelve times as old as his son twenty years back. Now he is twice as old as his son. What are their present ages?

A. Father 44 and Son 22

B. Father 35 and Son 23

C. Father 38 and Son 44

D. Father 55 and Son 22

E. None of these

Solution(By Examveda Team)

Let present age of the Son = X.
Present age of the father = 2X.

Now according to question,
2X -20 = 12*(X-20)
2X - 20 = 12X -240
10X = 220
X = 22
Present age son = 22 years,
Present age father = 2*22 = 44.

    Kindly Dont solve numerically .Think logically, we want to find out present age so it is given that twice the value.from the options we can check the answers.Option a is perfectly correct Because father's age is twice than the age of his son.
