if 2 + 3 = 0 ; 4 + 5 = 10 ; 5 + 6 = 18 ; 6 + 7 = 28 ; then 1 + 2 = ??

A. -2

B. -8

C. 36

D. none of these

Solution(By Examveda Team)

Method 1:

Square the first number and add one to second number then subtract second number from the first number.
2+3 = 2^2 -(3+1) =0
4+5 = 4^2 -(5+1) =10
5+6 = 5^2 -(6+1) =18
6+7 = 6^2 -(7+1) =28
1+2 = 1^2 -(2+1) =-2

Method 2:

Subtract 2 from first number then multiple with the second number, will give the solution.
2+3 = (2-2) * 3 =0
4+5 = (4-2) * 5 =10
5+6 = (5-2) * 6 =18
6+7 = (6-2) * 7 =28
1+2 = (1-2) * 2 =-2

So answer is -2.
