Sujal covers a distance in 40 min , if she drives at a speed of 60 km/h on an average. Find the speed at which she must drive at to reduce the time of the journey by 25%.

A. 60 km/h

B. 70 km/h

C. 75 km/h

D. 80 km/h

Solution(By Examveda Team)

Given Speed = 60 Kmph.

It means Sujal covered 60 km in 60 min (1 hour). So, in 40 min he will cover 40 km.

25% time reduced = 40 - 25% of 40 = 30 min.

Thus, Sujal needs to cover 40 km in 30 min (0.5 hour).

Speed * Time = Distance.

Speed * 0.5 = 40

Speed = 80 kmph.

    Answer is D because person cover distance in 40 min at speed of 60 km/h so total distance covered by him is 60 * 40/60 (in hour)= 40 kilometer now he has to reduce time 25% so he has to reach in 40/60-20%=1/2 speed=1/2*40(40 is distance) = 80km/ph

    D. 60×40= final speed × (25% less time = 30)
    Solving this
    Final speed = 80

    80 because as speed=60km/hr so in 40 min she travels 40 km after reducing time by 25% the new time will be 30 min min now speed=d/t,s=40*60/30=80(30 min change into hour by dividing 60)
