The areas of two circular fields are in the ratio 16:49. If the radius of the latter is 14 m, then what is the radius of the former?
A. 10 m
B. 8 m
C. 12 m
D. 16 m
Solution(By Examveda Team)
Let radius of first circular field = r
Then, Area = pi * r*r
Radius of second circular field = R = 14 m.
Area = pi *R*R = pi * 14*14.
Ratio of area = 16/49
pi*r*r /pi*14*14 = 16/49
r*r = 16*4 = 64
r = 8 m.
