The length and breadth of rectangular park are in the ratio of 3;2 . If a cyclist moving with a speed of 12km/hour along the perimeter of the park complete a round in 8 minutes, then find the area of the park ?

Solution(By Examveda Team)

cyclist moving with a speed of 12km/hour = 1200 meter in 60 minutes
∴ Cyclist run in 8 minutes = 1200 * 8 / 60 = 160 meter
rectangular park perimeter = 2(length and breadth) = 160 meter
i.e. 2(3x + 2x) = 160 where x is constant.
∴ x = 16
lenght of park is 3*16 = 48 meter
breadth of park is 2*16 = 32 meter
Area of park = length * breadth = 48 *32 = 1536 m2
