The marked price of an article is Rs.300. If the selling price is 50% more than the amount of discount allowed, find the selling price.
A. Rs. 200
B. Rs. 180
C. Rs. 150
D. None of these
Solution(By Examveda Team)
MP = 300
Let discount allowed is x.
SP = x + 50% of x
SP = MP - Discount
x + 50% of x = 300 - x
2x + x/2 = 300
4x +x = 600
5x = 600
x = 600/5 = 120
So, SP = 120 + 50% of 120
SP = 120 +60 = Rs. 180.
