There are infinite ropes in a room. Each rope takes 1 hour to burn, is 1 metre long and heterogeneous in nature. How can you calculate 45 minutes using such ropes? Also the number of ropes you will need to calculate the given time?

A. 1

Solution(By Examveda Team)

Take two ropes.

Burn first rope from one side and second rope from both side.

When second rope totally burn out, 30 minutes passed. Now burn first rope from other side as well, it will 15 minutes to burn out. Thus, 45 minutes can be measured.
