Two persons start from A and B, moving towards each other with a speed of 25 kmph and 49 kmph, respectively. After they cross each other, the person starting from B covers 145 km to reach A. What is the distance (in km) covered by A and B?

Solution(By Examveda Team)

A__________145 km_____________M_________X km_____________B

Let M be the meeting point. Its take time T to reach at M. Total distance = (145 +X) km.

Time taken by A = 145/25 hours.  [as, Speed *time = Distance covered.]

Time taken by B = X/49 hours.
Since,

Time taken by = Time taken by B.

145/25 hours. = X/49 hours.

25X = 7105

X = 284.2 Km.

So Total Distance = 284.2 + 145 = 429.2 Km.
