A shopkeeper gives 15% discount on the marked price and gives 3 article free for buying every 14 articles and thus gains 26%. The marked price is increased above the cost price by.?
Solution(By Examveda Team)
Let CP of each article be 100. Then,CP of 17 article = 17 * 100 = 1700.
He gains 26%.
Now, SP of 14 article = 1700 + 26% of 1700 = 2142.
SP of each article = 2142/14 = 153.
If SP is 85 then marked price = 100.
For SP 1, MP = 100/85
So, for SP 153, MP = (100 * 153)/85 = Rs. 180.
Thus, Marked price = (80 * 100)/100 = 80% above the CP.
