The entry fee of a zoo is Rs 98. Later this was reduced by 25%, which increased the sale of tickets by 20%. Find the percentage increase in the number of visitors

A. 54

B. 57

C. 60

D. 66

Solution(By Examveda Team)

Let 100 was the visitors.
Total Collection = 98 *100 = Rs. 9800.
Price after reduced entry fee = 98- 25% of 98 = Rs. 73.5.
Now,
Let X visitors were increased.
9800 + 20% 0f 9800 = 73.5* (100 +X)
Solving,
X = 60.
% Increased Visitors = (60 * 100)/100 = 60.

    Let initially 100 visitor enter in zoo.
    Total collection=98×100=9800/-
    Later entry fee=98-25%of98=73.5/-
    A/q
    9800+20%of9800=73.5(100+x)
    x is extra visitor enters in zoo after fee reduction
    x=60
    %increase of visitor=(160-100)/100×100=60

    new entry fee=(98-(98*25%))=147/2. Let visitors be x.
    Therefore, By condition, 2x/147-x/98=20/100 or, x=58.8 = 60%(approx)
