A boat takes total 11 hr and 15 min to travel 60 km upstream and 60 km downstream. if the speed of boat is 12 km/hr then what is the speed of current ?

Solution(By Examveda Team)

Speed of current = 4

When going upstream, if the current is u and speed of boat is v, total speed will be v−u. When going downstream, the total speed will be v+u. Now,

11.25 =60/(v+u) + 60/(v−u)
given v = 12 km/hr
therefore u = 4
