Let length of the train is X m.
Train crosses 400 m in 1 min (60 sec).
Speed of the train = 400/60 = 20/3 m/sec. -------------------- (1)
Now, train crosses a lamp post in 10 sec i.e it crosses its own length in 10 sec.
Speed of the train = x/10 m/sec ----------------------------- (2)
Comparing Equation (1) and (2),
x/10 = 20/3
3x = 200
x = 200/3 m.
