A train is 140m long is running at 60 kmph. In how much time will it pass a platform 260m long.
A. 12sec
B. 24sec
C. 36sec
D. 6sec
Answer: Option B
Solution(By Examveda Team)
Length of the train = 140 mLength of the platform = 260 m
Total distance covered = 140 m + 260 m
= 400 m
Speed of the train = 60 km/hr
= 60 * (1000 / 60) m/sec
= 50 / 3 m/sec
Time taken to pass a platform = Total distance covered / Speed of the train
= 400 / (50/3) m/sec
= 1200 / 50 m/sec
= 24 m/sec
