Renowned American science-fiction writer George Clayton Johnson passed away in Los Angeles, US. He was 86.

Benedict Anderson, a Cornell University scholar who became one of the most influential voices in the fields of nationalism and Southeast Asian studies, died on Sunday in Indonesia. He was 79.

Russian legendary film Director and screenwriter Eldar Ryazanov passed away in Moscow, Russia. He was 88.

Veteran industrialist, former parliamentarian and the last King of Chettinad, MAM Ramaswamy died at Chennai’s Fortis Malar Hospital. He was ailing for a while and on treatment at the hospital from November 7. He was 84.
