The volume of the largest cylinder formed when a rectangular piece of paper 22 cm by 15 cm is rolled along its longer side will be:

A. 570 cm3

B. 577 1/2 cm3

C. 577 1/3 cm3

D. 578 cm3

Answer: Option B

Solution(By Examveda Team)

According to question paper rolled along long side. Therefore height of the cylinder 'h' is 15cm and face side circle have perimeter is 22cm.
We know that, circle perimeter is 2*Π*r where 'r' radius of circle.
therefore,
2*Π*r =22
2*22/7*r = 22
r = 7/2 cm.
Volume of cylinder is Π*r2h.
=22/7 * (7/2)2 * 15
=(22 * 49 * 15)/28
=577.5(approx)
