Due to reduction in price of rice by 20% a man is able to purchase 6 kg more for Rs. 540. What is the reduced price of rice per kg?

A. Rs. 24

B. Rs. 22.50

C. Rs. 30

D. Rs. 18

Answer: Option D

Solution (By Examveda Team)

Reduction in price 20% amount of rice will increase 25%.
It means,
25% = 6 Kg.
So, Initially, total rice = 6*4 = 24 Kg.
Now 24 + 6 = 30 kg
Thus, Reduced price of the rice was,
540/30 = Rs. 18 per kg.
