A can do a work in 10 days and B in 20 days. They work together, but 2 days before the completion of the work, A leaves. In how many days is the work completed?

Solution (By Examveda Team)

A can fnish work in 10 days.

So, one day work of A = 100/10 = 10%.

B can finish work in 20 days.

One day work of A = 100/20 = 5%.

They together can do work in one day = 10 +5 = 15%.

A leaves two day before the work complition, it means 30% work had been left for B.

B can complete remaining work = 30/5 = 6 days.

They together can complete the work = 100/15 = 6.66 days.
A and B work together for 6.66 - 2 = 4.66 days.
Thus, total number of days taken for complete the whole work = 4.66 + 6 = 10.66 days.
