A man starts from B to K, another from K to B at the same time. After passing each other they complete their journey in 3 1/3 hours and 4 4/5 hours respectively. Find the speed of the second man if the speed of the first is 12 km/hr?

A. 10 kmph

B. 12 kmph

C. 15 kmph

D. 20 kmph

Solution (By Examveda Team)

Use Short Cut for these type of sum:

Speed of first man : Speed of second man = Sqrt (B /A)

Where A = time taken by first man, B = Time taken by Second man.

Speed of first man : Speed of second man = Sqrt [(24/5) / (10/3)] = Sqrt (36/25) = 6/5
Thus, Speed of the second man = (5*12)/6 = 10 Kmph.

    10/3 hr and 24/5
    S1/S2= SQRT 24/5 DIVIDED BY 10/3
    => SQRT 36/25
    => 6/5
    S1/S2 = 5/6*12 = 10 Km/hr
