A reduction of 20% in the price of wheat enables a person to buy 3.5kg more wheat for Rs 770. The original price of rice is

A. 55 per kg

B. 45 per kg

C. 65 per kg

D. 37 per kg

Answer: Option A

Solution (By Examveda Team)

Here, R = 20%, A = 3.5 kg and P = ₹ 770
According to the formula ,
Actual price of rice = [PR /(100 - R)] A
= [(20 x 770) / (100 - 20)] x 3.5
= [(20 x 770) / (80 x 3.5)
= Rs 55
