A student walks from his house at 5 km/hr and reaches his school 10 minute late. If his speed had been 6 km/hr he would have reached 15 minutes early. What is the distance between his school and house?

Solution (By Examveda Team)

Let the distance between school and home be x km.
The difference of time when A goes school to school with these two different speed is 25 min = 25/60 hour.
Now,
(x/5)-(x/6)= 25/60
Or, x/30 = 25/60
Or, x = 25/2
= 12.5 km.
