An express train travelled at an average speed of 100 km/hr, stopping for 3 minutes after every 75 km. How much time does the Train take to travel between two places which are 600 km apart?

A. 6 hrs 21 min

B. 6 hrs 24 min

C. 6 hrs 27 min

D. 6 hrs 30 min

Solution (By Examveda Team)

Average Speed = 100 km/hr.

With this speed, train can cover 600 km in 6 hours but train used to stop for 3 minutes after every 75 km.
So, Train will stop = 600/75 = 8 times in the whole journey.
But, you need to understand that after 7th stopping train will be at the destiny in next stop. Therefore, train will stop 7 times in journey.
So, extra time = 7 *3 = 21 minutes.
Total time taken in the journey = 6 hour 21 minutes.
