An improved variety ‘Pusa Mukta’ of cabbage is resistant to Black rot.
Pusa Mukta is a variety of cabbage with heads flattish round, medium-sized with light green outer leaves, weighing 1.5 - 2 kg each. The average yield is 25 - 30 t/ha.
It is tolerant of Black rot disease that is caused by the bacterium Xanthomonas campestris and it is a significant disease of cabbage and other crucifer crops worldwide.
