Balri Rakshak Yojana was launched in 2007. This scheme aims to balance the skewed sex ratio in the state by encouraging couples to adopt terminal method of sterilisation. In order to control population, reducing Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) and Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR), 500 Rupees is given to girl child if parents adopt this scheme after the birth of only one girl.
