f(x) and g(x) functions defined by g(x)=2x+2 and f(x)=sqr(x+3). Find f(g(2)).

A. 6

B. 9

C. 18

D. 16

E. None of these

Answer: Option B

Solution (By Examveda Team)

f(x) = sqrt(x+3)
g(x) = (2x+2)

you want:f(g(2))

first find g(2)
in the equation of g(x) = (2x+2), you replace x with 2 to get:
g(2) = (2*2 + 2) = 4+2 = 6
in the equation of f(x) = sqrt(x+3), you replace x with g(2) to get:
f(g(2)) = sqrt(g(2)+2)
since g(2) = 6, you replace g(x) with 6 to get:
f(g(2)) = sqrt(6+3) = sqrt(9) = 3
