Trichogrammatidae, Scelionidae and Evanidae are the egg parasitoids.
Egg parasitoids are specialized to attack the eggs of many arthropod species belonging to the Hexapoda but also spiders (Araneae). During oviposition, the embryo is killed and the immature wasp feeds on it until the completion of its development.
Egg parasitoids e.g. Trichogramma & Telenomus wasps. Larval parasitoids e.g. Netelia producta (Orange caterpillar parasite) & Tachinid flies. Larval - pupal parasitoids e.g. Heteropelma scaposum (Two-toned parasite) Pupal parasitoid - Ichneumon promissorius (Banded caterpillar parasite).
