How many seats are in the Maharashtra Legislative Council?

The Maharastra Legislature is bicameral consisting of a Legislative Council and a Legislative Assembly. The present strength of the Legislative Council is 78 members. It is a continuous House and not subject to dissolution. However, one-third of its members retires every second year and is replaced by new members.
