If 'a' is greater than 'b' by 2 and 'b' is greater than 'c' by 10 and a+b+c = 130, then (b+c)-a=?

A. 34

B. 42

C. 38

D. 44

Solution (By Examveda Team)

According to the question a = b + 2 and b = c +10

Therefore, c = b - 10,

Given, a + b + c = 130 (Put the value of 'a' and 'c').

we get, b + 2 + b + b - 10 =130.

next step: 3b = 138.

By solving above equation we get b = 46.

Therefore a = 48 and c = 36.

then (b + c) - a = 34.

so answer is 34.

    According to the question
    a-b=2 and b-c=10
    So,a=b+2
    And c=b-10
    as the question said,
    a+b+c=130
    or,(b+2)+b+b-10=130
    or,3b=138
    So,b=46
Then putting the value of b we find a=(46+2)=48 and c=(46-10)=36
    Therefore,(b+c)-a=34(Ans.)
