If the diameter of the wheel is 35 cm. then find the number of revolutions made in 3 minutes if the speed of the wheel is 66 km/hr.

A. 300

B. 30000

C. 3000

D. None of these

Answer: Option D

Solution (By Examveda Team)

Speed of wheel = 66 kmph = (66 * 5)/18 = 18.33 m per sec.
Time = 3 minutes = 180 sec.
Distance covered by wheel in 180 secs = 18.33 *180 = 3299.4 cm.
Diameter of the wheel = 35 cm.
Circumference of the wheel = pi * diameter = 3.14 * 35 = 109.9 cm.
No. of revolution made in covering 3299.4cm = 3299.4/109.9 = 30 revolution.
