Here they have given X M A E. The letters denote the numbers of alphabets that is A = 1, B = 2 etc. So X M A E will be 24,13, 1, 5, Adding all this we get 2 + 4+1+3+1+5 = 16. So it will be 16 : 16 on one side and the other side after adding the numbers we get V T N G = 22, 20,14, 7 which will be equal to 2 + 2 + 2 + 1 + 4 + 7 = 18. So the number will be 18.
