    Kgm is the force exerted by earth to pull the mass m
    So we have to multipy kgm with acceleration due to garvity to get joule
    1kgm = 1kgm×9.81m/sec²=9.81kgm×m/sec2= 9.81joule
    Kgm/sec2=newton

    50% reaction turbine there is one formula,

    Work done = Vb (2V1cos alpha-vb)/(1000).

    Substitute and we can get it 454/1000(2*537-434) = 282.
