The Punjab State Government has sought assistance from the Central Government for 13 road projects across the state in the 'Bharatmala Pariyojna' and declared 7 new road projects among these as National Highways. The Central Government is developing economic corridors, inter-corridors and feeder routes under its 'Bharatmala Pariyojana'. For Punjab, the economic corridor of Ajmer-Ludhiana, passing through Malerkotla-Sangrur-Sunam-Moonak, has been approved.
