This type of subsistence activity is known by various names among Orissa's tribes who practise shifting cultivation. The Juang of Keonjhar refer to it as Toila chasa, and their brother tribe, the Paudi Bhiyan, refer to it as Toila, Biringa, or Kaman. The Saora of Ganjam refer to their swiddens as Bagada, Saraba, or Baru.
