India’s first international conference on cooking gas begins in Odisha

India’s first international conference on cooking gas has started in Bhubaneswar, Odisha.

The 2-day conference was inaugurated by Jharkhand Governor Droupadi Murmu.

It was also attended by Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

Key Points

The conference has been organised by state-owned petroleum companies.

It will deliberate on the need for an LPG-enabled household and use of traditional cooking fuels.

It will focus on the need for an LPG enabled household, problems arising due to absence of cooking gas, the usage of traditional bio mass cooking fuels and their impact on both health and environment.

The delegates from developing countries, such as Brazil, Ghana, Nigeria, Nepal and Sri Lanka are participating in this event.
