China was the world's largest producer of cauliflower, accounting for 44% of total production followed by India with 29% of the world's total. China and India produce together more than 70% of the world's total cauliflower and broccoli.
In 2020, cauliflower production in China amounted to approximately 9.5 million tons. Cauliflowers are original from Asia, where they are known for many centuries. However, their spreading to other continents did not take place until the 18^th century. At present, it is mainly cultivated in Asia and the main producing countries are India, China, Italy and France.
