Mahavira belonged to the Ikshvaku dynasty. The Ikshvaku Dynasty was founded by the First Tirthankara Rishabhanatha.
Mahavira also known as Vardhamana, was the 24^th Tirthankara of Jainism. He was the spiritual successor of the 23^rd Tirthankara, Lord Parshvanatha. Mahavira was born in the 599 BCE into a royal Kshatriya family in Bihar, India. His mother's name was Trishala and his father's name was Siddhartha.
