The eight health districts are Nandigram, Jhargram, Bishnupur, Rampurhat, Diamond Harbour, Bashirhat, Asansol and Kalimpong. 'Jal-Tirtha' scheme is presently running in arid regions of Birbhum, Bankura, Purulia and West Midnapore. 1000 Shishu Aloys are opened simultaneoulsly in 20 districts including Purulia, East and West Midnapore, North and South Dinajpur, Malda, Birbhum, Bankura, Darjeeling, North and South 24 Parganas, etc. Under Geetanjali scheme, the State government provides Rs.70 thousand per house in plain area and rs.75 thousand inmountain areas and Sunderban region for the construction of house.
