    ROM holds the boot system code, which is executed every time you start your computer. Data in ROM is stored only at the time of manufacturing and can never be altered there after. That why the name is READ ONLY MEMORY.

    Can any body explain why ROM is read only memory? Can't i erase dates from ROM?
