The State Government has committed to increase the area under agroforestry from existing 6.3 per cent to 15 per cent in coming years. Poplar, eucalyptus, dek and Bamboo are the main tree species identified by agroforestry of Punjab. Kandi and Talwara region are areas for bamboo forests.
