Nishat Bagh was built by the elder brother of Empress Noor Jahan, Asif Khan and it opened in year 1633 AD. It is a terraced Mughal Garden situated on the eastern side of the Dal Lake in Srinagar. The beautiful gardens are spread over 12 terraces representing the zodiac signs and offer splendid views of the Dal Lake and the mountain range of Pir Panjal. Nishat Bagh covers an area of 46 acres and it is the second largest garden next to the Shalimar Bagh. The layout of the garden is 548 metre length and 338 metre width.
