In these type of questions a number series is given and candidates are asked to either insert a missing number or find the one that does not follow the pattern of the series. The key point is to understand the pattern in that way the given series is written. Number series can be formed in many ways . Therefore, The thumb rule is that maximum you practice, maximum you get.

Pattern of the Given series is

21 *4 +4 = 88
88 *5 +5 = 445
445 *6 + 6= 2676

Therefore, 84 should be replaced by 88.
