Delegation refers to the process where a manager assigns responsibility and authority to subordinates to complete a task. However, several obstacles can hinder effective delegation.

1. Superior: A superior may be reluctant to delegate due to lack of trust, fear of losing control, or belief that they can do the task better themselves.

2. Subordinates: Subordinates may resist delegation because of fear of failure, lack of confidence, or unwillingness to take on additional responsibility.

3. Organisation: The organizational structure or culture may not support delegation. Rigid hierarchies, unclear roles, or lack of proper training can all act as barriers.

Therefore, all three—Superior, Subordinates, and Organisation—can act as obstacles to delegation.
