One type of liquid contains 20% water and the second type of liquid contains 35% of water. A glass is filled with 10 parts of first liquid and 4 parts of second liquid. The percentage of water in the new mixture in the glass is:
Solution (By Examveda Team)
Water in first type of Liquid = 20% of 10 = 2 part.
Water in second type of Liquid = 35% of 4 = (35 *4)/100 = 1.4 part.
Total Liquid = 10 + 4 = 14 part.
% of Water in total liquid,
= (total water/total liquid) *100
= (3.4*100)/14 = 24.28%.
Required percentage={(20%of10+35%of4)/(10+4)}*100=170/7%
