Shagun Scheme was launched in 1997 - 98 by Punjab Government, the scheme provides 15000 Rupees at the time of marriage of Scheduled Caste and Christian girls whose family income is less than 20000 Rupees (rural areas) and 27500 Rupees (urban areas). This scheme is also known as Ashirwad Scheme.
