    It's a matter of costly is another thing, but ques is arises that why we can't keep under petrol in view of chemical ?? n kerosene also came out from petrol

    sodium kept in kerosene because it is highly reactive alkaline. if it is kept in petrol or it will be costly. if it is placed in water it will react with oxygen. potassium is more reactive than sodium and lithium is least reactive.
