Ilmenite is a black iron-titanium oxide with a chemical composition of FeTiO³. Ilmenite is the primary ore of titanium, a metal needed to make a variety of high-performance alloys.

Hindustan Copper Limited (HCL), a public sector undertaking, incorporated on 9^th November 1967, is under the administrative control of the Ministry of Mines, Government of India. In these deposits significant amounts of silver occur as included silver sulfide mineral phases or as limited silver in solid solution within the galena structure.
