Answer: Option A

Solution(By Examveda Team)

The sterile insect technique was first time proposed in the year 1937 by Knipling.
The sterile insect technique was conceived by Knipling in 1937 and first developed for use against the screwworm, Cochliomyia hominivorax (Coquerel), a deadly parasite of warm-blooded animals and man in the Americas.
It is a method of biological insect control, whereby overwhelming numbers of sterile insects are released into the wild. The released insects are preferably male, as this is more cost-effective and the females may in some situations cause damage by laying eggs in the crop, or, in the case of mosquitoes, taking blood from humans.
