The damaging stage of cotton jassid Nymph and adult.
Jassids are also called Leaf Hoppers Adults are small greenish coloured insects. Edges of leaves curl and turn yellow and later become reddish-brown. The remainder of the leaf is often covered with small yellow spots on the lower surface. The leaves then usually dry up and shed.
Damage is caused by the nymphs and adults of Amrasca insect. They suck the plant sap and introduce salivary toxins which are capable of damaging the tissue and impairing photosynthesis.
