The first term in a sequence is 1 and the second term is 5. From the third term on each term is the average (arithmetic mean) of all preceding terms. What is the 25th term in the sequence?
Solution (By Examveda Team)
The first term = 1
Second term = 5
Third term = (1+5)/2 = 3
Fourth term = (1+5+3)/3 = 3
Fifth term = (1+5+3+3)/4 = 3
We always get an average of 3 for all the sum of all preceeding terms. So, the 25th term would be 3, And the sequesnce would be
1, 5, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3 ................... 3.
